Savannah River National Laboratory Establishes Joint Appointment with University of Florida
Savannah River National Laboratory established a new joint appointment with University of Florida professor Nathalie A Wall.
Wall is director of University of Florida’s Nuclear Engineering Program, and her research interests include radiochemistry, nuclear wastes, nuclear forensics, the nuclear fuel cycle, and the environmental behavior of radionuclides. Wall will collaborate with SRNL on projects related to accelerating remediation and enabling net-generation nuclear material processing.
“I am thrilled to receive a new joint appointment with Savannah River National Laboratory,” said Wall. “This collaboration marks an exciting opportunity to advance innovative research and foster impactful scientific endeavors.”
“SRNL’s joint appointment program is designed to strengthen the relationship between SRNL and universities,” said Elizabeth Hoffman, director, SRNL Innovation and University Engagement. “The appointment of Professor Nathalie Wall will further SRNL’s relationship with the University of Florida and build upon the important nuclear materials research ongoing at both institutions.”
SRNL’s Joint Appointment Program provides university faculty opportunities to engage in research and development addressing the nation’s challenges in energy, science, national security and environmental stewardship. Joint appointees serve as a bridge between their university, SRNL researchers and students to deliver the future workforce for SRNL and the Department of Energy.
