Radioactive operations – provided technical basis waste form formulation and facility design for Low Level Waste at SRS setting the stage for cementitious waste forms throughout the U.S.

1992

SRL is rebranded Savannah River Technology Center.

1994

SRNL-developed technology TCAP (Thermal Cycling Absorption Process) was started in the SRS Tritium Facilities for production operation in April. Invented by Myung Lee (SRL) in 1980-81.

1994

Susan Wood named Director of SRTC.

1996

Defense Waste Processing Facility started radioactive operations based on SRNL developed glass formulations and equipment design; it is still the only HLW glass processing facility in the U.S.

1999

Washington Group International acquires the government services business of Westinghouse, changing the Westinghouse Savannah River Company name to Washington Savannah River Company.

2002

G. Todd Wright named Director of SRTC.
