Savannah River National Laboratory, Clemson University Seek to Expand Development of Grid Infrastructure with Joint Appointment of Ramtin Hadidi

Aiken, S.C. (April 17, 2024) – Savannah River National Laboratory (SRNL) and Clemson University jointly appointed Ramtin Hadidi, Ph.D., to expand collaborative grid infrastructure efforts between SRNL and Clemson.

Hadidi’s research focuses on power and energy system modeling and simulation, integration, testing and standardization of distributed energy resources, microgrids control, power system stability studies, controller hardware-in-the-loop and power hardware-in-the-loop testing and co-simulation environment for power systems. Hadidi is an associate professor in the Holcombe Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Clemson University in Charleston, South Carolina. He was previously a research scientist at the Duke Energy eGRID Center at the Clemson University Restoration Institute in Charleston.

“Dr. Hadid’s expertise and proximity to Clemson’s eGRID facility augment SRNL’s programmatic efforts in grid infrastructure,” said SRNL Deputy Laboratory Director, Science and Technology, Sue Clark. “We look forward to collaborating with Dr. Hadidi and his colleagues at Clemson to address security challenges in the US energy sector.”

Hadidi’s joint appointment is the third for Clemson and SRNL.
