The Director’s Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility (DEIA) Council helps foster an environment to energize innovation through a diverse and inclusive culture. Council members are a diverse group of employees representing all areas of the Laboratory. These champions help infuse our DEIA efforts into the fabric of SRNL.

Employee Resource Groups

SRNL has a growing network of Employee Resource Groups that are led by employees with common interests and provide opportunities to network, support and celebrate.

  • GLOBE supports our LGBTQIA+ employees and allies.
  • SPECTRA highlights opportunities, networking and support for women.
  • Thrive provides support and resources for employees with disabilities and caretakers and works to create an environment where all employees can thrive.
  • Our Multi-Cultural resource group provides a supporting network for culturally, ethnically and racially diverse employees.
  • Our Veterans Group supports our veteran, active reserve and guard members, including their families.

SRNL received the Dept. of Labor HIRE Vets platinum medallion as affirmation of SRNL’s efforts to honor the service of our Armed Forces veterans and assist in their reintegration into the civilian workforce. The creation of a veterans’ employee resource group and a transitioning service member fellowship were actions taken by SRNL that led to receiving this award, which are only expected to mature and become more impactful to SRNL, the Department of Energy, and the military community.


Transforming Trajectories for Women of Color in Technology

SRNL is proud to be a Founding Member of the National Academies of Science Action Collaborative on Transforming Trajectories for Women of Color in Technology. Launched in December 2023, the action collaborative is designed to improve pathways in tech education and participation in the tech workforce for women who identify as African American, Black, Hispanic, Latina, Native American, Asian American, Alaska Native, Native Hawaiian, or Pacific Islander. The action collaborative’s efforts are guided by the National Academies’ report Transforming Trajectories for Women of Color in Tech, which provides evidence-based findings and recommendations for increasing recruitment, retention, and advancement of women of color in tech fields. Visit the action collaborative’s website for more information.
