Sandi Oswald

Bio

As chief information officer, Sandi Oswald is responsible for the service delivery, management and operations, and strategic direction of Information Technology (IT). The organization provides virtual infrastructure to SRNL, such as digital and operational technologies. Multiple networks and business and process applications (custom, off the shelf) are supported. Cyber operations staff aid in protecting government data and authorizing new tools and systems into the SRNL accreditation boundary. Supporting the SRNL digital business and mission needs are key while also focusing on creating IT service independence and maturation.

Oswald’s experience in Information Technology (IT) spans over 30 years in both commercial and government organizations. Oswald began her career at the Savannah River Site (SRS) by working on application development for sitewide Oracle-based systems, such as the training records and information network system and the Waste Information Tracking System. She then transitioned to a commercial IT firm to work in application and database administration, specializing in custom built software for worldwide rural electric cooperatives. Here she trained staff on relational database design. Following this role, she worked for Camber Corporation providing Oracle consulting services. When she returned to the Savannah River Site, Oswald managed a diverse range of groups in IT including application development, cybersecurity, database administration, desktop, email, mobility, and back-end infrastructure (server/storage). She worked on the sitewide PeopleSoft Enterprise Resource Planning application migration project. She served as the project manager for the SRS Office 365 email, Skype cloud migration, and OneID projects at SRS.

Oswald has a Bachelor of Science in interdisciplinary studies, computer science, and business from the University of South Carolina.
